The System is comprised of a network of Cleveland area hospitals, surgery centers, outpatient facilities, primary care practices, and long term care facilities. With 3,800 beds and over 150 patient care access points, the System represents a leading edge approach to modern health care integration of comprehensive services across a region in combination with attaining excellence in academic medicine. A broader set of affiliations across an even wider geographic area reaching east to Pennsylvania, south to Canton, and west to Sandusky comprises the University Hospitals Regional Network. This network forms a unique support network for the Department's initiatives in clinical and investigative dermatology, as well as education.

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center

A medical staff of more than 2,000 of the country's finest physicians, representing 50 different medical specialties, provides patient care, research, and teaching through a region-wide network of hospitals and facilities.

Dermatology, University Hospitals Medical Group (UHMG)

Complementing the above activities is a highly respected Dermatology faulty practice. Dermatology is the UH-affiliated practice that is a member of University Hospitals Medical Group (UHMG), the practice entity of the physician full-time faculty base at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC). The UHMG Dermatology practice provides a full spectrum of dermatologic care, including the care of skin disease, skin tumors, cancer, disorders of hair and nails, aging and photoaging skin, allergic reactions, skin surgery, cosmetic dermatology, hair trans-plantation, and skin aesthetics. Patients with difficult, complex or rare disorders, or who require interdisciplinary coordination of care with other specialties, can receive care in disease-focused programs which are provided by faculty with special expertise in the area.

A diverse teaching faculty, comprised of the full-time faculty plus committed faculty practicing in the community, provide our students, residents, and fellows with personalized education within all our programs. Administrative offices, conference rooms, and library of the Department of Dermatology are housed in the Lakeside Building of University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center.

Cleveland Veteran's Affairs Medical Center

Cleveland VA Medical CenterCo-sponsor of the residency program, the VA Medical Center is located one-half mile from University Hospitals of Cleveland, in the same University Circle neighborhood bordering Wade Park. The Cleveland VAMC is an important regional referral center for northern and central Ohio. It is also a leading center of VA research, and the Dermatology Service has ranked number one nationwide for the past two years in VA research funding.

The Dermatology service is quite active, and provides care to about 10,000 patients annually. It has a fully-equipped outpatient facility assigned exclusively to dermatology, which provides complete clinic facilities and a day care treatment center for the management of skin disease. Dermatology also has four assigned inpatient beds. Patients are integrated into the clinical trial and specialty programs based at University Hospitals.

University Hospital Richmond Medical Center

Richmond Medical CenterUniversity Hospital Richmond Medical Center is an accredited acute care, full service, medical and surgery facility located in Richmond Heights, Ohio. Founded in 1961, the hospital specializes in personalized, quality medical care, and is proud to have both Doctors of Osteopath and Medical Doctors on staff, representing over 30 specialties and numbering over 200 physicians. The 250 bed hospital offers comprehensive health services including acute care, outpatient and diagnostic services, an emergency and trauma department and other rehabilitative services. The Dermatology Department area is in the newly renovated time-share area.

The hospital has provided quality care to the community for over 40 years by offering a variety of services. Being part of the University Hospitals Health System provides Richmond Heights Hospital the opportunity to further broaden those quality services to the communities it serves.
